Day-wise Itinerary

DAY-1 Arrival in New Delhi

Upon arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, you will be escorted to your hotel. During the late afternoon, you will start your visit of New Delhi which would include going past and visiting historical monuments including the Indian Parliament, Qutab Minar, India Gate and other closeby monuments seeped in history.

This bustling city is the best combination of the age-old and the contemporary era. Delhi has two distinct parts – New Delhi, the city created in 1911 as the imperial capital of India by the British and the Old Delhi, the Muslim capital of India between the 17th and 19th centuries.

DAY-2 New Delhi to Leh (1.30 Hours Flight)

Today you will be taking an early morning flight to Leh, which would offer you an incredible view flying above the magnificient Himalayas.  Ladakh lies under the northern state of Jammu & Kashmir, being one of the most sparsely populated areas, with its culture reminiscent to that of Tibet. After you reach Leh, you will be driven to your hotel. You will witness the beautiful mountainous landscapes and the exquisite culture after reaching Leh. The region is dominated by Buddhists and have a spiritual feel in the air. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and acclimitising to the climate of Ladakh, which stands at an altitude of 3500m.

DAY-3 leh

After breakfast, you will start your sight-seeing of this “ Little Tibet ”, giving you an insight into the tradition and culture of the people here. You will start your trip with a visit to the Spituk Gompa Monastery, one of the most impressive monasteries having Buddha statues and other Chinese and Tibetan styled structures to amaze you.  Another impressive monastery that you shall be visiting is the Thiksey Monastery, about 20 km from Leh, located on top of the Thiksey Village and is one of the largest Gompa in Ladakh and houses around 100 monks. You will have a memorable experience, attending the prayer ceremony at the Monastery. To add to that the multi-colored prayer flags and the picturesque view will give you peace and tranquility. Ladakh is famous for its Tibetan inspired delicacy – The Thukpa, and you should certainly try the same at a local eatery suggested by our guides.

DAY-4 Leh to Nubra Valley ( 5 Hour Drive )

After an early breakfast, you will leave for Nubra Valley via the Khardung La Pass. Khardung La pass is said to be the highest motarable pass at an approximate height of 5,600m. Cradled by rugged mountains, Nubra Valley is a beautiful land. The Nubra and Shyok rivers join in Diskit, the heart of Nubra Valley. You will visit the Diskit Gompa or monastery which is perched high above the town. You will find walls (long, beautifully arranged stones engraved with Buddhist prayers) and whitewashed chortens, a Buddhist shrine (dome-shaped monuments with Buddhist relics). In the evening, you will visit the Hunder sand dunes and experience an exciting safari on a double-humped bacterian Camel Safari.

DAY-5 Nubra Valley to Leh ( 5 Hour Drive )

Today you will take the route back to Leh. The road trip would be one of the most liberating experiences you are going to have today with sights of interesting plantations, two humped camels, monasteries, hot springs and much more. After reaching Leh and in the comfort of your hotel, you shall relax a bit. In the evening go out and check the local bazaars of the city, shop for some exquisite handmade items and artifacts. Amongst its culinary delight, the most prominent food that you will taste is the Ladakhi Thukpa and Tsampa (roasted barley flour). Another dish that is very famous in Ladakh is Skyu, a heavy pasta dish with root vegetables. Interact with the locals who are extremely warm hearted people.

DAY-6 Leh to Tso Moriri ( 5 Hour Drive )

After your breakfast, you will leave for your onward journey to Tso Moriri lake, which is a lake in the Ladakhi part of the Changthang Plateau. At an altitude of 4522 m, this lake is at the highest altitude amongst all of India. The roads from Leh to Tso Moriri are spectacular, parallel to a river, with Mountain ranges at the backdrop. You will also be amazed with the colourful mountain ranges that you will encounter during the way. You will also get to see the nomads accompanied with their goats, sheeps etc. which would be a delightful experience in itself.  After reaching Tso Moriri, spend time at the lake in the beautiful and serene setting of the incredibly beautiful lake. Today you will also experience the wonderful hospitality and experience of staying in a Tent.

DAY-7 Tso Moriri

Today, you will spend the day in the beautiful setting of the lake, trying to absorb the calmness and the lifestyle of the nomads inhabited by a few hundred of them. Interact with them and understand their lifestyle by seeing them do their daily chores with their animals that would be sheeps, goats etc. Enjoy the local cuisine, and relax your senses over a wonderful stay at the camp.

DAY-8 Tso Moriri – Tso Kar  ( 3 Hour Drive )

Today, we will head to another hidden gem of Ladakh, namely the Tso Kar lake, which is also known as the “ White Lake ” , as a result of the white salt deposited on the shores of the lake. The lake is very popular for bird watching and other wildlife including the Brahminy ducks, bar-headed geese, the great crested grebe and the black-necked cranes. It gives you a spectacular view of the birds amidst the snow-clad mountains.  The nomads residing in this area are known as the Khampas, who are primarily herdsmen rearing goats, cows and yaks. You will be amazed to see the majestic lake and how beautiful it appears in the night as it does in the morning.

DAY-9 Tso Kar to Leh ( 4 Hour Drive )

After breakfast you will leave for Leh through the Taglang La, bidding goodbye to the nomads in their local language. After reaching Leh by early afternoon and relaxing a bit you shall go out to explore more of the city. You can visit the famous Leh palace, which happens to be one of Leh’s architectural marvels. Go out and check the local bazaars and try some more of the local cuisine.

DAY-10 Leh to Pangong Tso ( 5 Hour Drive )

Today, you start your day with a drive to the Pangong Lake via Chang La, the world’s third highest motorable pass at an altitude of 17,590 ft which is a breathtaking experience to be driving up this road. It will give you a surreal experience as you cross the magnificent Alpine Valley, walk along the Chang Tso Lake and then move towards the beautiful Pangong Tso Lake. It is one of the most beautiful natural lakes in the world.

DAY-11 Pangong Tso to Leh ( 5 Hour Drive )

After breakfast, enjoy the beauty of this magnificient lake with a stroll along its shores and spend some time off with yourself and your loved ones. Post an early lunch you will leave for Leh. During the way you shall visit the Chemrey and the Matho monastery. Chemrey monastery is a 1664 Buddhist monastery, comprising of a number of shrines and a collection of scriptures written in silver and gold letters. Matho monastery is another Gompa that you will be visiting, it is the only representation of Sakyapa Sect in Ladakh of Tibetan Buddhism. After reaching Leh, explore the local shops and have a relaxed evening ahead.

DAY-12 Leh to New Delhi ( 1.3 Hours Flight )

After a final traditional Ladakhi breakfast, you will be saying Goodbye or “ Julley Julley ” in the Ladakhi dialect, to this magical land and board your flight for your onward journey to New Delhi, giving you a spectacular view of the Mountains.  After reaching Delhi, you will be transferred to your hotel.  In the late afternoon you will go out to visit the famous Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, one of the most prominent Sikh gurdwara, or Sikh house of worship, in  India. You will then visit the famous Lodi Garden after which you will visit the famous Humayun’s Tomb of the Mughal Era. In the evening you will visit the bustling Connaught Place, a frenetic business and financial hub, centered on a ring of colonnaded Georgian-style buildings with global chain stores, vintage cinemas, bars and Indian restaurants.

DAY-13 New Delhi International Airport

Early morning at 6:30 AM you set out to experience the charm of Old Delhi on cycle taking you through the unique mix of colours, smells, sounds, tastes and unforgettable images of Delhi. Starting with Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosque’s in India, you then visit the famous 17th century market which also happens to be the busiest, known as the Chandni chowk market. Some other attractions would include the Red Fort and finally ending with a lavish breakfast and then back to the hotel, and after your breakfast, you would leave shortly to the airport for your onward destination.
