Andaman & Nicobar Islands

Andaman and Nicobar islands, one of the seven union territories of India, is a group of islands at the juncture of Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea. The group of islands is a neighbour to Indonesia, Thailand and Myanmar. It comprises of the two island groups, the Andaman Islands and the Nicobar Islands. The Andaman Islands are home to the only known Paleolithic people, the Sentinelese people, who have no contact with any other people. The islands are covered in a bounty of flora and fauna. Some of the densest tropical forests can be found here. The land has a rich diversity of animal wildlife despite being separated from the land masses. The island is connected by the Vir Savarkar Airport in Port Blair, the capital of the Andamanese island. It is also well connected through sea route at Haddo Wharf Port in Port Blair; ship services are available from Chennai, Kolkata, and Vizag.

However, it is not just the beauty of the archipelago of 572 islands that makes Andaman & Nicobar Islands an ideal getaway. The place also attracts trekkers who can spend days discovering the large stretch of indigenous flora. The place is a heaven for non-vegetarians, particularly the sea-food with a wide array of fish curries available.

Andaman hosts an annual tourism festival in December & January. But the islands can be visited anytime between October & May. The temperatures are not very extreme ranging between 23 ° C and 30 ° C.
